The Leadership Circle Profile® (LCP) helps leaders identify the few shifts that will have the greatest impact on their leadership effectiveness, relationships, and results.
The LCP is one of the most widely used and research-validated 360° leadership assessments in the world. It gives leaders a clear picture of how they’re showing up based on how they are seen by the people who work with them every day.
Unlike traditional 360s that focus primarily on observable behaviours, the LCP also reveals the underlying thinking patterns that drive those behaviours. That’s what allows leaders to understand not just what to change, but why those patterns exist in the first place.
How It Works
The LCP gathers confidential feedback from the people in a leader’s circle. This includes direct reports, peers, their manager, and others across the organization. Raters respond to a set of validated questions covering the leadership competencies and tendencies that matter most to long-term effectiveness.
Leaders also complete a self-assessment, which creates a powerful comparison: how do I see myself versus how others experience me?
Results are displayed in a visual profile that reveals strengths, development areas, and how the leader compares to a global norm base of other leaders who have completed the assessment.
What the Profile Measures
The LCP measures two primary leadership domains:
Creative Competencies:
Leadership behaviours that drive high performance, strong relationships, and results.
These include dimensions like self-awareness, authenticity, teamwork, mentoring, strategic focus, and decisiveness.
Reactive Tendencies:
Self-limiting patterns rooted in underlying assumptions that can hold leaders back, even when they have the best intentions.
These include tendencies around control, compliance, and self-protection that often operate below the surface.
By mapping both domains in a single visual profile, leaders gain immediate clarity on what’s working, what’s getting in the way, and where to focus their development.
Who It’s For
The LCP is best suited for leaders who are serious about their development and open to honest, data-driven feedback.
- Leaders looking to strengthen their effectiveness in their current role
- Leaders preparing for advancement or expanded responsibilities
- Leaders navigating performance challenges who need targeted support
- Leaders transitioning into a new leadership role
- Leading through complexity or change
- Organizations investing in leadership development across teams
- As part of a broader leadership development initiative
This assessment is most valuable for leaders who are open to honest feedback and ready to act on it. It may not be the right fit if the goal is simply to validate current performance.

Why Leaders Value It
Most leaders come into this process with some hesitation and unsure of what they’ll hear. That’s normal.
What they consistently find is that the feedback is more balanced, more constructive, and more useful than they expected – and far more empowering. The LCP provides clarity: what’s working, where they’re getting in their own way, and where to focus for the greatest impact.
The LCP helps leaders understand exactly where they stand with their people. It surfaces what’s going well, not just what needs work. And it often reveals that leaders are harder on themselves than their raters are.
For many leaders, this assessment has been a catalyst for meaningful change in how they communicate, how they lead, and how they show up for their teams.
If you’re considering this, the real question is: what would need to be true for this to be a valuable investment for you or your team?
